NCBFAA joined with nearly 60 other associations in a letter to Congressional leaders expressing support for the Beagle Brigade Act (S. 759/H.R. 1480). The legislation authorizes funding for the National Detector Dog Training Center, which trains dogs and their Customs and Border Protection (CBP) handlers to detect plant and animal diseases and pests.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in a May 16 Federal Register notice said it will now publish the Notice of Seizure and Intent to Forfeit online, and if required post it at the appropriate U.S. Customhouse or U.S. Border Patrol Station or Sector office at the same time that it first sends a written Notice of Seizure to the party or parties it has identified as potentially having an interest in the seized property seized.
