Headquartered in the Washington DC metro area, the NCBFAA represents more than 1422+ member companies with 110,000 employees in international trade - the nation's leading freight forwarders, customs brokers, ocean transportation intermediaries (OTIs), NVOCCs and air cargo agents, serving more than 250,000 importers and exporters. The Association’s members handle more than 97% of the entries for goods imported into the United States and are directly involved with the logistics of these goods. Further, members operating as OTIs are involved with approximately 80 to 85% of all exports from the United States.

  • NCBFAA Customs Committee Tracks Tariff Changes Related to U.S. Trade Deals with Bangladesh and Taiwan and Tariff Modifications for India

    The NCBFAA Customs Committee and Counsel of Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., has provided our customs broker members with pertinent details regarding the implementation of recent U.S. reciprocal trade deals reached with Bangladesh and Taiwan as it pertains to tariff adjustments, as well as Customs and Border Protection (CBP) guidance related the recently announced duty modifications for certain India products. The Committee will continue to send our members additional Trump Administration tariff updates and subsequent CBP guidance, as soon as received.

  • New DDTC ITAR Exemption

    Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has updated the Automated Export System Trade Interface Requirements (AESTIR) Appendix O to include a new Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) license exemption.

  • CBP Replacement Refund Instructions for Returned Checks and Rejected ACH Refunds

    Feb 13, 2026
    Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has provided the trade with replacement refund instructions for returned checks and rejected ACH refunds. Starting Feb. 6, CBP began issuing all refunds electronically, except where law permits checks.
