Headquartered in the Washington DC metro area, the NCBFAA represents more than 1500 member companies with 110,000 employees in international trade - the nation's leading freight forwarders, customs brokers, ocean transportation intermediaries (OTIs), NVOCCs and air cargo agents, serving more than 250,000 importers and exporters. The Association’s members handle more than 97% of the entries for goods imported into the United States and are directly involved with the logistics of these goods. Further, members operating as OTIs are involved with approximately 80 to 85% of all exports from the United States.

    Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Field Operations will hold a webinar, Introduction to Biological Material Importation: USDA Regulations, on Monday, July 20, at 12 p.m. ET. This webinar, presented by CBP’s Agriculture Programs and Trade Liaison (APTL) and a U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Veterinary Medical Officer, will provide an overview of regulatory authority, guidelines, and the import process for biological material requirements. Participants will learn about key regulations, import procedures, and resources available from CBP and USDA to ensure safe importation.

    Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has updated the Electronic Export Manifest (EEM) ACE Exports Truck X12- 385 Customs Consist Implementation Guide (IG). Specifically, the update implements the usage in M1306 to “M.”

  • Schedule B and HTS Updated in AES

    Jul 14, 2026
    The Census Bureau has updated Schedule B, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), and HTS Codes that are not valid for the Automated Export System (AES) to reflect changes made to the July 1, 2026 codes. There will be a 30-day grace period beyond the June 30 expiration date in which the outdated codes will be accepted. However, reporting an outdated code after the grace period will result in a fatal error.
