Headquartered in the Washington DC metro area, the NCBFAA represents more than 1500 member companies with 110,000 employees in international trade - the nation's leading freight forwarders, customs brokers, ocean transportation intermediaries (OTIs), NVOCCs and air cargo agents, serving more than 250,000 importers and exporters. The Association’s members handle more than 97% of the entries for goods imported into the United States and are directly involved with the logistics of these goods. Further, members operating as OTIs are involved with approximately 80 to 85% of all exports from the United States.

  • White House Sets TRQ for Quartz Surface Product Imports, Effective Aug 15

    Jul 31, 2026
    President Trump on Friday, July 31, announced a proclamation to impose a tariff-rate quota on imports of quartz surface products (QSP) for a period of four years, with annual increases in the within-quota quantities and reductions in the rates of duty applicable to goods entered within and in excess of those quantities in the second, third, and fourth years, as provided in the Annex to this proclamation.

  • DHS Announces the Addition of 43 Chinese Companies to UFLPA Entity List

    The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), on behalf of the Forced Labor Enforcement Task Force (FLETF), July 31 added 43 companies to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) Entity List, as well as technical updates to two existing entities. According to Customs and Border Protection (CBP), these newly added entities include companies in high-priority sectors for enforcement, including aluminum, apparel, copper, cotton, as well as tomatoes and downstream products.

  • Census and CBP Updates to AES

    The Census Bureau on July 28 deleted the following Schedule K port codes from the Automated Export System (AES). In addition, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on July 29 made changes to the HTS numbers that cannot be reported in AES.
