Headquartered in the Washington DC metro area, the NCBFAA represents more than 1422+ member companies with 110,000 employees in international trade - the nation's leading freight forwarders, customs brokers, ocean transportation intermediaries (OTIs), NVOCCs and air cargo agents, serving more than 250,000 importers and exporters. The Association’s members handle more than 97% of the entries for goods imported into the United States and are directly involved with the logistics of these goods. Further, members operating as OTIs are involved with approximately 80 to 85% of all exports from the United States.

  • NCBFAA Customs Committee Tracks Tariffs Related to Oil for Cuba, South Korea Tariff Reset and New Section 232 Metals Valuation Court Case

    The NCBFAA Customs Committee and Counsel of Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., will continue to provide our customs broker members with pertinent details regarding the latest action by the Trump Administration to impose IEEPA tariffs on other countries’ products if they are shipping oil and related products to Cuba, as well as the reset of tariffs on imports of automobiles, lumber, pharmaceuticals, and “other” reciprocal tariffs for South Korea to 25% for failure to enact the July 30, 2025 trade deal reached between the two countries and the new Section 232 metals valuation court case. Meanwhile, the Committee will send our members additional Trump Administration tariff updates and subsequent Customs and Border Protection (CBP) guidance, as soon as received.

  • President Trump Designates Laura DiBella FMC Chairman

    President Trump on Jan. 28 designated Laura DiBella to serve as Chairman of the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC). Chairman DiBella was sworn in as a FMC Commissioner on Jan. 6, 2026. She was nominated by President Trump on Sept. 3, 2025, and confirmed by the Senate on Dec. 18, 2025, to serve a term that expires on June 30, 2028.
