Headquartered in the Washington DC metro area, the NCBFAA represents more than 1422+ member companies with 110,000 employees in international trade - the nation's leading freight forwarders, customs brokers, ocean transportation intermediaries (OTIs), NVOCCs and air cargo agents, serving more than 250,000 importers and exporters. The Association’s members handle more than 97% of the entries for goods imported into the United States and are directly involved with the logistics of these goods. Further, members operating as OTIs are involved with approximately 80 to 85% of all exports from the United States.

  • CBP to Disable Export Manifest Submission via DIS on Dec 1

    Nov 19, 2025
    Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on Dec. 1 will discontinue the use of the Document Image System (DIS) for submitting outbound cargo declarations. This includes the CBP Form 1302A: Cargo Declaration, supplemental form CBP 168, and any associated documents that comprise the outbound cargo manifest.

  • CBP to Enforce Validations for e214 Submissions Dec 11

    Nov 19, 2025
    Customs and Border Protection (CBP) sent a reminder to the trade it will begin enforcement actions related to the FIRMS Code, Zone ID, and Port of Entry data which is submitted to ACE Foreign Trade Zone Admission transactions in the Production (PROD) environment.

  • Change in Submission Method for Individual Customs Broker License Applications Nov 14

    Nov 19, 2025
    Customs and Brokers Protection (CBP) is automating the submission method for individual customs broker license applications. As of Nov. 14, individual license applicants will complete and submit all applications and associated fees through the eCBP portal. Individual license applications hand delivered, mailed, or emailed on or after Nov. 14 will be returned to the applicant for submission through the eCBP portal.
