Headquartered in the Washington DC metro area, the NCBFAA represents more than 1500 member companies with 110,000 employees in international trade - the nation's leading freight forwarders, customs brokers, ocean transportation intermediaries (OTIs), NVOCCs and air cargo agents, serving more than 250,000 importers and exporters. The Association’s members handle more than 97% of the entries for goods imported into the United States and are directly involved with the logistics of these goods. Further, members operating as OTIs are involved with approximately 80 to 85% of all exports from the United States.

  • CBP Provides Best Practices to Protect Your IEEPA Refund Information

    May 12, 2026
    Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reminds trade members to remain vigilant in protecting their information against scammers when seeking IEEPA refunds. “With the launch of the Consolidated Administration and Processing of Entries (CAPE), CBP expects that scammers will attempt to use social media, email, and other communication methods to secure account information from importers in order to interfere with the process of refunding International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) duties,” the agency said in a May 7 CSMS.

  • CBP Provides Multiple ACE Reports to Monitor CAPE Refund Claims

    May 12, 2026
    To help the trade prepare and monitor Consolidated Administration and Processing of Entries (CAPE) declaration submissions, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has provided multiple ACE Reports products. On April 20, CBP released the CAPE tool in the ACE Portal to streamline the submission and processing of valid refund requests for duties imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA).
