CBP Webinar: Recycling Aluminum: Sorting Through the Scrap

U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Office of Trade’s National Commodity Specialist Division (NCSD) is hosting the following webinars in the month of May as a part of the 2026 NCSD webinar series.

Entry into the webinar is on a first-come, first-served basis as seats are limited. This webinar is on Classification in Chapter 49, Printed Matter will explain the tariff language of Chapter 49, and the nuances of classifying printed matter.

Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. ET: Recycling Aluminum: Sorting Through the Scrap – The “Recycling Aluminum: Sorting Through the Scrap” is part of the 2026 Educations Commodity Specific Webinar Series hosted by the National Commodity Specialist Division, Regulations and Rulings, Office of Trade. This webinar will be discussing some of the newer technology used to separate aluminum scrap from other metal scrap, as well as new uses for recycled aluminum.

Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. ET: Trends in Classifying Coated Fabrics 2 – The “Trends in Classifying Coated Fabrics 2” is part of the 2026 Educations Commodity Specific Webinar Series hosted by the National Commodity Specialist Division, Regulations and Rulings, Office of Trade. This webinar will focus on the classification of certain coated fabrics in a recently released Headquarters Ruling Letter. Each fabric will be presented as a case study to show the variety of classifications that may present themselves with coated fabrics.

Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. ET: Robot Wars: HTSUS Tariff Classification of Robots – The “Robot Wars: HTSUS Tariff Classification of Robots” is part of the 2026 Educations Commodity Specific Webinar Series hosted by the National Commodity Specialist Division, Regulations and Rulings, Office of Trade. This webinar explores how industrial robots of 8479.50 differ from application or task-specific robots, collaborative robots, humanoid robots, cobots, etc. We will also address how new technologies including Artificial Intelligence, advanced sensors, and machine vision have blurred the lines among these robotic platforms and created classification challenges.
