Models now reason through multi-step problems, and AI agents can carry out tasks such as reading email, preparing documents, and searching files, rather than only answering questions. This session explains what changed, how AI agents work, and what it means for licensed customs brokers.
Attendees will learn practical, low-risk ways to start using general-purpose tools like ChatGPT and Claude, and where those tools fall short on compliance work such as classification and tariff stacking. The session also covers how to keep broker review and accountability at the center of AI-assisted workflows, a set of questions for evaluating any AI tool, and a step-by-step approach to piloting and rolling out AI in a brokerage.
