NCBFAA joined more than 265 trade organizations in a Dec. 6 letter calling for both the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) and the United States Maritime Alliance (USMX) to return to the bargaining table, with the goal of reaching a new labor contract before the new Jan. 15 contract expiration date.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) staff on Dec. 4 presented to the Commissioners a final rule on e-filing of Certificates of Compliance for imports of consumer products. The Commission is expected to approve the rule in a vote scheduled for Dec. 18. The final rule will then take effect one-year after it is published in the Federal Register.
