The Custom and Border Protection (CBP) Area Port of Philadelphia on Oct. 24 notified the trade of a new East Coast Warehouse (Philadelphia) CES fee schedule. The agency began assessing the CES fees on Sept. 5 in accordance with 19 C.F.R. 118.5, Procedures for Changes to a Fee Schedule, and no public comments were received.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released a message to the trade on Oct. 22 announcing a change to its National Customs Automation Program (NCAP) test concerning Periodic Monthly Statements (PMS). Test participants must transmit electronic payment of supplemental duty bills resulting from an underpayment of estimated duties, taxes, and fees attributable to entries originally paid monthly through the PMS test.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said on Oct. 30 it will automate the process for applying for a new ACE Secure Data Portal top account with the Importer sub-account view. For importers’ 5106 records that are managed by customs brokers, brokers should ensure that current importer contact information is provided, the agency said.

The Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Machinery Center in Laredo, Texas, reminded the trade in an Oct. 17 notice to “ensure strict compliance with the reporting guidance” regarding Section 232 duties on steel and aluminum articles and their derivatives. “Accurate reporting of steel and aluminum content and quantities is essential to avoid potential errors, under-collection of duties, and enforcement actions,” the agency said.
