    Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on Dec. 1 will discontinue the use of the Document Image System (DIS) for submitting outbound cargo declarations. This includes the CBP Form 1302A: Cargo Declaration, supplemental form CBP 168, and any associated documents that comprise the outbound cargo manifest.

  • Change in Submission Method for Individual Customs Broker License Applications Nov 14

    Nov 19, 2025
    Customs and Brokers Protection (CBP) is automating the submission method for individual customs broker license applications. As of Nov. 14, individual license applicants will complete and submit all applications and associated fees through the eCBP portal. Individual license applications hand delivered, mailed, or emailed on or after Nov. 14 will be returned to the applicant for submission through the eCBP portal.

  • CBP Update on Agricultural Products Exempted from Reciprocal Tariffs

    Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on Nov. 14 provided the trade with updated import entry guidance regarding certain exemptions from tariffs for imported agricultural products as part of the Executive Order, “Modifying the Scope of the Reciprocal Tariff with Respect to Certain Agricultural Products."

  • FWS Targets Squid Imports from Argentina

    Customs brokers and importers should be aware that the Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) is requesting additional information from importers on specific shipments of squid from Argentina. The information is not a permanent new requirement but is being requested on a case-by-case basis.

  • FDA Moves Away from CBP CSMS for Trade Messages

    The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said it will no longer use the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) CSMS to issue informational messages. The agency will now issue these messages directly to the trade using our own automated notification system.

  • Draft Cargo Release, GBI Enrollment, and Entry Summary Create – ACE CATAIR Updates

    Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on Oct. 31 published CBP and Trade Automated Interface Requirements (CATAIR) updates with changes pertaining to the addition of the Altana ID Global Business Identifier (GBI) and the expansion of the GBI field character limit. CBP expects to deploy these changes to the Certification software testing environment on Nov. 6.

  • Dog Imports – Know the Rules

    Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued a fact sheet reminding the trade of the requirements for filing an entry for dog imports. The fact sheet reviews the appropriate tariff classification. The HTS includes seven possible tariff classifications, ranging from U.S.-origin dogs returning with their owner to dogs imported for commercial sale or adoption.

  • CBP Says Enhanced ACE Portal Account Application Now Available – Ensure CBP Form 5106 Information Is Up to Date

    Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said on Oct. 30 that it has automated the process for applying for a new ACE Secure Data Portal (ACE Portal) top account with the Importer sub-account view, and if needed, trade parties with an existing CBP Form 5106 (5106 record) on file with CBP and without existing ACE Portal account access should now use the new automated application to apply for ACE Portal access with the Importer sub-account view.
