The NCBFAA Transportation Committee and Counsel of Venable LLP in comments submitted to the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) on March 24 expressed concern about the negative effects to both services and costs on NVOCCs, freight forwarders, and customs brokers if the proposed Section 301 port fees applied to Chinese-built containerships arriving at U.S. ports should be imposed.

In addition, CBP has provided guidance on the additional duties on imports of energy and energy resources that are the products of Canada.
