Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said an update to the ACE production environment became effective May 27. ACE Currency Exchange Rates will now transmit, via the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) %R message, the U.S. dollar-euro exchange rate for countries that use the euro as their official currency.

The Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) has rescinded the AI Diffusion Rule that was issued on Jan. 15, 2025, and was take effect May 15, 2025. BIS does plan to publish a regulation that will formalize the rescission of the existing rule, as well as issue a replacement rule in the future.

The State Department Office of Marine Conservation has notified Congress that beginning June 1, 2025, wild-caught shrimp from Peru will be prohibited from import into the U.S. The ban will apply to wild-caught shrimp from Peru with a Date of Export of June 1, 2025, or thereafter.
