To increase availability of infant formula, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) outlined the procedures for processing certain infant formula products from specific overseas companies which will be afforded enforcement discretion. The list of firms/products can be found here. This process will remain in effect until Nov. 14.

Beginning July 1, the USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) will require importers of earthworms to obtain a PPQ 526 pest permit. APHIS PPQ will only issue permits for earthworms from countries that are free from foot-and-mouth disease. The permit requires strict compliance with conditions related to the rearing and shipping of earthworms.
