Headquartered in the Washington DC metro area, the NCBFAA represents more than 1,300 member companies with 110,000 employees in international trade - the nation's leading freight forwarders, customs brokers, ocean transportation intermediaries (OTIs), NVOCCs and air cargo agents, serving more than 250,000 importers and exporters. The Association’s members handle more than 97% of the entries for goods imported into the United States and are directly involved with the logistics of these goods. Further, members operating as OTIs are involved with approximately 80 to 85% of all exports from the United States.

    Customs and Border Protection continues to update its Section 232 Tariffs on steel and aluminum frequently asked questions (FAQs). The NCBFAA Customs Committee and Counsel of Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., continue to contribute and monitor these FAQs for updates which are important to our customs broker members.

  • Electronic Export Manifest Updated Codes for AIR IATA

    Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said it will update the Electronic Export Manifest (EEM) disposition codes for AIR IATA to promote accurate formatting in the EEM party details. The EEM data elements must be submitted in the correct segment outlined in the EEM Implementation Guides (IGs).

U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) Office of Trade’s Continuing Educations Program is hosting a webinar on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. ET titled Licensed Customs Broker Continuing Education—A Small Business Focus. The webinar will provide guidance, best practices, strategies and answering questions on meeting the new Continuing Education (CE) requirements to brokers who operate a small business or who work for a small business.

To register for this free webinar, click here. All registrants will receive the access link for the webinar the day before the event, but entry into the webinar is on a first-come, first-served basis as seats are limited. After the live event, this and other previously recorded webinars will be available for replay at Trade Outreach Webinars | U.S. Customs and Border Protection (cbp.gov).
