The NCBFAA Customs Committee is keeping track of the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) information technology initiative, known as ACE 2.0, that will ultimately replace the Automated Commercial Environment with a new system that is responsive to modern trade. The committee recommends that association members should do the same.

NCBFAA on Oct. 11 submitted comments to the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) in response to the agency’s Sept. 21 Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) seeking comment on proposed definitions for the elements necessary to establish a violation of 46 U.S.C. § 41104(a)(10), which prohibits ocean common carriers from unreasonably refusing to deal or negotiate with respect to vessel space accommodations.
