Headquartered in the Washington DC metro area, the NCBFAA represents more than 1,300 member companies with 110,000 employees in international trade - the nation's leading freight forwarders, customs brokers, ocean transportation intermediaries (OTIs), NVOCCs and air cargo agents, serving more than 250,000 importers and exporters. The Association’s members handle more than 97% of the entries for goods imported into the United States and are directly involved with the logistics of these goods. Further, members operating as OTIs are involved with approximately 80 to 85% of all exports from the United States.

    Customs and Border Protection continues to update its Section 232 Tariffs on steel and aluminum frequently asked questions (FAQs). The NCBFAA Customs Committee and Counsel of Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., continue to contribute and monitor these FAQs for updates which are important to our customs broker members.

  • Electronic Export Manifest Updated Codes for AIR IATA

    Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said it will update the Electronic Export Manifest (EEM) disposition codes for AIR IATA to promote accurate formatting in the EEM party details. The EEM data elements must be submitted in the correct segment outlined in the EEM Implementation Guides (IGs).

  • ACE Reports Update for In-Bond Status Reports

    The NCBFAA Customs Committee In-Bond Subcommittee recently worked with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to create the INBND-009 In-Bond Shipment Status report to assist in-bond filers to identify in-bonds that are not in a closed status.
