About:
We limit our practice exclusively to legal issues surrounding international trade including U.S. import regulation and U.S. export controls. Accordingly, we represent clients before the U.S. Customs Service and the myriad of federal agencies and international organizations that regulate international trade. We also work closely with our clients to help them both understand the relevant legal requirements and develop compliance programs relating to these requirements.
Our practice relating to U.S. import regulation involves the regulations and procedures of the Bureau of Customs and Border Protection (Customs), along with the dozens of other federal agencies with regulations enforced, in part, by Customs. In addition, international trade agreements are a frequent subject of our representation.
World events continue to increase the importance of compliance with U.S. export control regulations. Even after efforts to centralize homeland security functions, various agencies and departments have varied responsibilities for import and export-related regulatory issues.
Our firm’s expertise extends to the Customhouse Broker community, which in turns serves as the cornerstone for the importing business community. We provide continued education with in-house training, outside seminars, and CHB exam preparation courses and materials.
