How to Prepare and Survive Drawback Desk Reviews and Audits
Drawback involves more than simply filing a claim. Drawback Specialists issue CF28 “Desk Reviews” to a much higher percentage of drawback claims than CF28s issued for import entries. Drawback Desk Reviews are also very involved and require a detailed response supported by a significant amount of documents and information. Learn the mechanics of a Drawback Desk Review, what documents and information you will need to respond, and how you prepare for these requests even before filing the claim. We will also explore how Desk Reviews differ from a drawback audit conducted by CBP’s Regulatory Audit Division, and what you should expect if you are involved in a drawback audit.
