CERTIFIED EXPORT SPECIALIST (CES) PROGRAM

 

About the Program
The NCBFAA's Certified Export Specialist (CES) certification program is designed to help trade professionals involved in the export industry to become competent and knowledgeable in the current export regulations. You will find that participation in the CES program will provide you numerous venues for honing your professional skills while continuing to keep up with the rapidly changing marketplace within which OTI/Freight Forwarders function. The coursework that will be available is varied and wide ranging, encompassing all aspects of the trade. 

 
 
CES Course
The CES Course is a completely one-year, self-paced online offering with a proctored final exam (also Online).
 
Who Should Attend: Individuals working in the forwarding industry interested in expanding their fundamental knowledge of the industry.

Key Topics: Export Controls Basics, Export Administration Regulations, Destination Country Controls, State Department– ITAR, Office of Foreign Assets and Control, Other Government Agencies, Census, Recordkeeping, Security, Payment Terms, Bookings, Air Freight, Bills of Lading, Destination Country Requirements, Marine Cargo Insurance, Export Licenses, ECCN Classification, Anti Boycott Regulations, Drug Enforcement Agency, Export Violations, Helpful Hints, Export Quotations, Letters of Credit, NVOCC, AES/EEI, Export Documentation, Carnet, and Federal Maritime Commission Regulations.
 
Eligibility: At least one year of experience in the U.S. export business.
 
Registration: $650 for members and $1,250 for non-members.  Open, on-going enrollment. Students may apply at anytime during the year.

Withdrawals and Cancellations
The NEI requires written notice of course withdrawals (email, fax or mail). 
There is a $50 administrative fee if the NEI receives written notice of enrollment cancellation prior to the NEI providing the student with a username and password. A refund of the tuition fees, minus a $50 administrative fee will be issued. 
There is a $100 administrative fee if the NEI receives written notice of enrollment cancellation after a username and password has been provided. A refund of the tutition fees, minus a $100 administrative fee will be issued. Students may withdraw from the course at any time but no refund will be provided after the course has begun.
