Russo, Nicole

 

Dr. Nicole Russo is the Director of Quarantine Policy, Analysis, and Support unit of USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service.  Her staff serve as the liaisons to Customs and Border Protection’s Office of Field Operations; where they work collaboratively with CBP to implement policy and operational requirements for the inspection and clearance of agricultural products at U.S. ports of entry.  Her staff represent APHIS in support of the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) and in the development and implementation of the APHIS PGA message set.  Prior to her current role, Nicole served as the Director of Imports, Regulations, and Manuals at APHIS where she oversaw regulatory development and the establishment of import policy for plants and plant products.  Nicole received her doctoral degree from Cornell University in plant pathology, and her undergraduate degree from Rutgers University.
