Harden, Blake K.


As trade counsel on the Committee on Ways and Means, Blake advises the Chairman and Republican members on the legal and policy aspects of international trade.  Blake has primary responsibility for covering trade issues in the Latin American region as well as specific issues related to customs law and oversight, trade facilitation, supply chain, and the Miscellaneous Tariff Bill process.


Prior to joining the Committee staff in November 2016, Blake spent ten years as an attorney with U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Office of Chief Counsel, where she worked in both the Detroit and Washington, D.C. offices.  During her time with CBP, Blake was responsible for a wide range of matters involving fiscal and appropriations, customs, immigration, ethics, labor, real property, and tort law. 


Blake is a graduate of Michigan State University and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.
