NCBFAA Names Zuniga to NEI Director Post
Washington, DC: National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America, Inc. (NCBFAA) President Jeffrey Coppersmith is extremely pleased to announce that, effective September 15, Federico C. “Kiko” Zuniga will become the NCBFAA Educational Institute (NEI) Director.
“I couldn’t be happier that Kiko will take over the leadership role of the NEI,” said Mr. Coppersmith. “It was his vision that was the genesis for the NEI and to have him return as Director will ensure that the NEI program reaches its full potential.”
In this new job, Mr. Zuniga will manage the NEI department, marketing the certification programs, developing additional educational outreach and ensuring that the Association meets its educational and professional goals. The programs offered by the NEI are not only for Customs Brokers and Forwarders but all parties that are involved in the international supply chain.
“I want the NEI to increase the professionalism of our industry and the entire trade,” said Mr. Zuniga. “An educated logistics professional, including importers and exporters, can help their company be more successful and more profitable.”
Mr. Zuniga has enjoyed a long relationship with NCBFAA and the international trade community. He helped create Area 8 (Southern Border), was chairman of the Customs Committee, and served as Area Representative on the Board of Directors. After a variety of committees and executive positions, he was elected President of NCBFAA in 2002 for four years and he served as Chairman for another four years. Mr Zuniga has also been involved in the International Federation of Customs Brokers Association, serving as President of IFCBA from 2008 to 2010.
Mr. Zuniga is a Texas A&M graduate with a Bachelors degree in Finance. He received his Customs Brokers License in 1984.
Headquartered in Washington, DC, the NCBFAA represents nearly 900 member companies with 100,000 employees in international trade - the nation's leading freight forwarders, customs brokers, ocean transportation intermediaries (OTIs), NVOCCs and air cargo agents, serving more than 250,000 importers and exporters.
