Upcoming NEI Webinars!

Powers of Attorney for Forwarders and Brokers Webinar on Feb. 24

Powers of attorney are a topic we all think we understand and have under control - until we end up in a mess!  There is renewed activity on CBP’s side in validating powers of attorney. Now is a good time to review the requirements and double check your procedures. Will your powers of attorney be found valid by the regulators? A judge? What are the risks?

This webinar, presented by Su Ross of MSK on Feb. 24 from 1-2 p.m. ET, will provide tips to brokers and forwarders about getting valid powers of attorney (POA) from business partners. This is not a topic for brokers only! We will cover:

  • When a POA is needed.
  • Procedures for checking POA validity.
  • Benefits to being careful.
  • Whether and when the NCBFAA terms and conditions matter and how to use the POA to get them signed.
  • What CBP is up to these days regarding POAs.
  • Q&A
