September 2 Is the Deadline for Mandatory ACE Filing for AMS-regulated ProduceAre You Ready?

Section 8e of the Agriculture Marketing Agreement Act applies to specific fruit, vegetable and specialty crop imports into the US. Generally, the law requires imported products to meet the same or comparable grade, size, quality and maturity standards as domestic products covered by federal marketing orders. The Agriculture Marketing Service (AMS) is responsible for enforcing these requirements.

ACE filing for AMS Section 8e data has been available for several years, but beginning September 2, ACE filing will be mandatory for AMS Section 8e data.
