NCBFAA Annual Conference Program Announced!
If you haven't already registered for NCBFAA's 46th Annual Conference, and need a little motivation, look no further than our recently published conference program! The NCBFAA Conference Committee has done a phenomenal job this year in assembling the topics and issues most likely to affect the way you and your business operates and what you'll need to look out for in the coming year. You'll hear industry leaders and subject matter experts discuss:
- "E-Commerce: Opportunity or Threat?"
E-commerce continues to grow and is still a challenge. How will CBP deal with the facilitation of legitimate trade while maintaining enforcement priority enforcement of safety and security? Trade issues such as IPR and trade remedies? How can all members of the logistics chain participate in the movement and clearance of smaller shipments? CBP has working groups looking at the challenges in developing its policies and programs. The panel will talk about the progress on this important subject.
- "A Look at Customs Business, Reasonable Care, and Broker Responsibilities"
Brokers have been facing more and more new challenges. Binding rulings and new processes are chipping away at the definition of Customs Business. TFTEA regulations are being developed that are expected to put more responsibility for brokers knowing their customers. Brokers are seeing more scrutiny not only by CBP, but also by other government agencies. This panel will discuss where the future of brokers and enforcement is going.
With the recent turmoil in international trade, how does a broker/forwarder navigate the myriad issues affecting our space? From Brexit, to NAFTA, to steel tariffs, to government shutdowns - our industry faces hurdle after hurdle that must be overcome to service our clients.
