NCBFAA Actions on Your Behalf

With another successful Annual Conference in the books, NCBFAA Leadership and Staff spent much of last week completing post conference tasks that needed to be addressed. NCBFAA Executive Vice President Megan Montgomery presided over a staff-wide post-conference recap meeting and began to plan for next year’s Conference. For those of you who attended the Annual Conference, please fill out the surveys that were emailed to you at the end of last week. We use your comments and feedback to help in the planning for next year’s Conference, so the earlier we can get it, the better. Additionally, she had the opportunity to speak with former colleagues in the automotive industry about the recent tariffs and the potential for collaboration on the continually evolving issue. She attended the CBP ACE bi-weekly call and the Export Compliance sub-committee meeting.

New NCBFAA President Amy Magnus, as well as Mary Jo Muoio, Myra Reynolds, Dion Cheong and Sandy Coty, met with CBP officials to discuss the importance of the “date of entry” as it pertains to duty calculation and they look forward to working with CBP as they develop an automated process for brokers to select duty calculation date.

Ed Greenberg, NCBFAA Transportation Counsel, participated on a panel on demurrage during the International Trade Symposium held by the Norfolk Port Authority in conjunction with the American Shipper.
