NCBFAA Actions on Your Behalf
It’s been a very busy week for NCBFAA Leadership and Staff. NCBFAA Executive Vice President Megan Montgomery and Legislative Representative Jon Kent spent the bulk of their week with the Global Value Chain Coalition during their Fly-In. Over the week, they visited more than 100 Congressional offices to educate them about the importance of trade as a job creator in our economy.
Additionally, Mr. Kent attended the Appropriations Committee CBP FY 2019 Budget Hearing. Of the hearing, he said, “Commissioner McAleenan handled himself very effectively, but was limited in his discussion to security and immigration-related questions posed by the Committee. There was no discussion of ACE except a brief snippet in his remarks asking for $5.5M to apply to "post-core" ACE.”
NCBFAA Vice President Amy Magnus was in Newport, Rhode Island for the Coalition of New England Companies for Trade (CONECT) Conference.
NCBFAA and CBP held their monthly meeting to discuss ACE priorities. NCBFAA’s CEE Subcommittee met last week as well.
Planning for the Annual Conference is in the home stretch. There are only two weeks left until the Conference and we can’t wait to see everyone there!
