Georgia Bulldog Wins NCBFAA 2018 $5,000 Annual Scholarship Competition
The NCBFAA is pleased to announce that the winner of the 2018 $5,000 Annual Scholarship is Ashley Mosier! Ashley is enrolled at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA where she is working toward her Bachelor of Business Administration with plans to sit for the Customs Brokers License Examination after graduation. Currently, Ashley is employed part-time by DSV Air & Sea in Atlanta, GA.
“I was ecstatic to hear that I won and was at a complete loss for words,” Ashley told the NCBFAA. “I spent two months researching and writing this essay and I’m glad my hard work paid off.”
Asked what plans she had for the award, Ashley replied, “This scholarship is going to go a long way in helping with the cost of my books, tuition and helping pay down my student loans and I am really thankful to Roanoke Trade for their generous sponsorship of this award.”
As the scholarship winner, Ashley is invited to join the NCBFAA members at their Annual Conference at The Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort & Spa, Rancho Mirage, CA, where a representative of Scholarship-sponsor Roanoke Trade will present her with the award during lunch on April 30.
To qualify for the award, she submitted an essay on the timely topic, “Renegotiating NAFTA – What major changes should be considered to benefit American businesses and consumers?” which was judged by an NCBFAA panel of experts to be the winner.
This is the 25th year that the NCBFAA has promoted this scholarship competition to further education in our industry. By helping students defray the cost of furthering their educations, the NCBFAA scholarship program contributes to the increasing professionalism of our industry and encourages those seeking a career in international trade and commerce.
