What is the Global Trade Educational Conference?
The Global Trade Education Conference (G·TEC) is an annual event put on by the NCBFAA Educational Institute (NEI). It offers attendees the opportunity to have in-person training with the leading subject matter experts in the industry, as well as meet and network with colleagues. It is an educational opportunity open to all members of the international trade and logistics community.
International Trade Service Providers such as U.S. Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders, their employees who handle the daily transactions, as well as anyone who works in the global logistics industry, including import and export compliance department staff.?
How do I register for G
To register for G·TEC, you will need to have your NCBFAA individual account login credentials. If you do not have an NCBFAA account, you will need to create one, by clicking here. If you need to have your login information sent to you, you may request them here.
Once you have your login credentials, please make sure to review your account information and make any necessary updates (Name, Company Name, E-mail address, etc.) before continuing to registration.
Payment for registration is by credit card only.
How can we keep track of conference events?
The G·TEC Program page will contain all updates to the official conference program. Information will also be sent via information eMail blasts to attendees and the conference app. Attendees will receive information to download and access the app prior to the conference. Once on-site, please check the app for any last minute updates or changes.
How do I make hotel reservations?
To book your room, you may do so online by clicking this link. We have a negotiated room block price of $149/night.
What is the cut off for the Conference Hotel block rate?
The conference room block rate will be available until July 6, 2018. Rooms are limited so we encourage you to make your hotel reservation as soon as possible!
What do I do for hotel reservations if no rooms are available at the Conference Hotel at the block rate?
If the hotel does not have rooms available, please send your information, including the nights you need, to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will put you on our waiting list, and contact you should there be a change in availability.
What do I do if I need to cancel my hotel reservations?
If you find you have a room that needs to be cancelled, please contact email@example.com before doing so, as we may be able to utilize that room for the waitlist in the event someone still needs a room. You will then be advised in writing within a few days when it is either ok for you to cancel your reservation if not needed by NEI, or if your reservation will be utilized.
How far is the Conference Hotel from the airport?
The hotel is approximately 16 miles or 20 minutes from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, and 8 miles or 10 minutes from Dallas Love Field Airport.
What is the best way to get to the conference site from the airport(s)?
A cost of a Super Shuttle is $16 from Dallas/Fort Worth Airport and a taxi is $40. The Super Shuttle from Dallas Love Field runs about $21, while a taxi is $23. You can also use Uber or Lyft.

What are the rules regarding conference badges?
Badges are required for admission to all conference session and functions. If they are not on a lanyard, they should be worn “High and Right.” Badges are non-transferable and are distributed at registration. Individuals not previously registered can pick badges up at the NEI registration Desk upon payment of appropriate fees.
NEI encourages participants to leave their badges at the registration desk when they are departing the conference so that they can be recycled.
What is the dress code for the conference?
Participants are encouraged to attend the conference in business casual attire during the day. Evening functions are also business casual.
How can I earn Continuing Education Credits for attending the conference?
10 CCS/CES credits will be earned for attending the conference. Please sign in for your credits at the registration desk at any time during the conference.
What meals are included in registration?
Monday, July 30, 2018:
Breakfast will be from 7:30-8:30 a.m.
Lunch is on your own
Networking reception (heavy hors d'oeuvres and carving stations) from 6-7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, July 30, 2018:
Breakfast will be available from 7 – 8 a.m.
Working Lunch from 12:15-12:30 p.m.
