The LACBFFA would like to invite you to join Jorge A. Garcia, Assistant Center Director of the Electronics CEE and Heather Litman of GDLSK for an open discussion. How will CBP carry out this mandate? What are the administrative challenges and legal implications? What kind of impact will this have on trade?
8:00 – 11:00 am
This workshop will provide a distinct viewpoint of the evolution of the Customs Broker and the Freight Forwarder to what it is today from a regulatory and/or in-house perspective. We shall explore the ever-changing role and responsibilities of these trade representatives and what that will entail in the modern world of corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and potential agency enforcement. Using real-world case studies, we will review significant FDA and intellectual property issues faced by importers. Additionally, we will discuss recent trends in the trade industry and what industry may be able to expect from various regulatory agencies that affect trade.
