A New Year with NCBFAA

With the end of the year fast approaching, now is a perfect time to start planning some New Year’s resolutions. For those looking for a professional development resolution this year, we recommend some of NEI’s new offerings. In 2017, NEI introduced two new programs, Export101 and the Master Export Specialist Program, to add to their very successful CCS & CES programs. If you are not enrolled in any of NEI’s programs, you are missing out on a wealth of knowledge to support your career path and update you on the ever-changing “information” of the trade community. These courses are available to all and NCBFAA members and Professional Members will receive  a substantial discount for all these programs. If you’re enrolled in the credential programs, check on your current standing with NEI to ensure you’re still on track to fulfill your credentialing obligations. For more information on the NEI, its courses, Association conferences and webinar pricing click here or contact them at nei@ncbfaa.org.

Be sure that you (employees and company representatives) update your account information, as we are working on the 2018 Membership Directory and renewals. For employees, accurate information, especially your email address, is important so you can be certain to receive critical information, as well as important announcements, opportunities and information.  In addition, it guarantees that those enrolled in NEI programs get credit for courses taken and conferences attended. Employees are also asked to supply a personal email in case company spam filters or firewalls prevent us from sending you emails with attachments or responding to your requests for assistance.

Those designated as primary contacts for your companies are asked to review their company records to ensure the company demographics are accurate as well as to confirm:

  • That the employees listed are still with the company (unless you want them to continue to benefit from your membership),
  • That you have the branch offices (with at least city, state, and phone number) and subsidiary affiliates you want linked to your company, and
  • That the total number of employees involved in the logistics business is correct.

The data we provide our Membership Directory publisher about your company is drawn directly from this information and we rely on you for its timeliness and accuracy. Unlike internet postings, once the book is printed it cannot be corrected and the inaccuracies will remain public.

Your listing in the Directory is one of the benefits conveyed by your NCBFAA membership but we need you to ensure that what is in that listing is accurate and up-to-date. For those of you interested in advertising in other ways than through your directory listing, please click here.

Should you need to review or make changes to your account, the Manage Your Account portal on the homepage is available 24/7 or you can send a message during business hours for assistance to scobbs@ncbfaa.org. Your feedback is invaluable to us here at NCBFAA, so please take the time to let us know how we’re doing this year, how we can improve next year, or topics you would like to see addressed. We look forward to finding ways to help you keep trade moving. Thank you for allowing us to serve you and our industry another year!
