NCBFAA attends the WCO PSCG Meeting
Former NCBFAA President and current Customs Chair Mary Jo Muoio of Geodis recently attended the World Customs Organization's Private Sector Consultative Group (WCO PSCG) on behalf of NCBFAA under the International Forwarders and Customs Brokers Association (IFCBA) flag. This was the first time that Ms. Muoio was in attendance at these regularly held meetings in Brussels, Belgium.
NCBFAA had the opportunity to sit through the full PSCG meeting and move us closer to our goal of an increased international perspective. Among the issues discussed at the most recent PSCG were globalization, the rising tide of protectionism, the revised Kyoto Convention, and our ongoing effort to further fair, safe and reasonable trade in the eCommerce realm. The goal of these meetings is to enable the public and private sector to work together on a global scale to facilitate growth and development of free and fair trade.
It was an honor for NCBFAA's representation to be present at these meetings and NCBFAA will be following up through the Customs Committee and the association's leadership to ensure that our members always have a seat at the table to respond to policy that will affect our members and industry.
