The Logistics Educational Interface is the premier learning management system of the NCBFAA Educational Institute. It is powered by Meridian Knowledge Solutions, a leading provider in online learning systems. LogisticsEI provides users a clean, seamless learning experience while maintaining their achievements and milestones. With numerous features, LogisticsEI will become a reliable tool for global logistics education.
If you are an active CCS/CES/MES designee or an NEI professional member that has already accessed the site, you were prompted to change your password upon logging in.
If you have never accessed LogisticsEI before but have signed up for a course, you should have been sent an automated email with login credentials when we created your account. You will be asked to change your password upon logging in. Note that this will not change your password for the NCBFAA website - yourNCBFAA.org credentials are separate from your LogisticsEI credentials.
When creating a new password for LogisticsEI, please be sure it contains at least 4 alphabetic letters, and preferably no special characters. Note that the NEI staff does not have access to your LogisticsEI password, so if you forget it, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can issue a new, temporary password for you to use.
If you require login assistance, please contact the NEI Staff at email@example.com.
Why is my transcript not updated yet?/How do I access my transcript?
For any inquiries regarding transcript maintenance, please contact the NEI staff at firstname.lastname@example.org.
PLEASE NOTE: Starting in 2015 and moving forward, all credits will be reflected on LogisticsEI, not on the NCBFAA website.
All historical records before January 1, 2015 will still be accessible on the NCBFAA website.
To access your current transcript, you must first login to LogisticsEI. Once logged on, scroll over the Learn tab at the top of the page, and click on Transcript.
Once you have accessed your transcript, you may reorder your course completions by clicking on any of the column headers. Note that his is not permanent. Items will automatically reorder themselves next time you access your transcript.
How many credits must I earn in order to recertify my designation?
All CCS/CES/MES designees must earn a certain amount of continuing education credits in order to recertify their designation each year. All designees must complete their credits by the Expiration Date listed under the Certifications tab of their transcript on LogisticsEI.
Are there any changes to the certification courses?
Effective July 2015, the CCS course has been changed from a weighted score course to a self-paced online course with open and on-going enrollment. The cost will remain $650 (for members) or $1250 (non-members). The CCS course will no longer have scheduled quizzes, and the quizzes will no longer be weighed out for a final score. The CCS Course will be broken up into 23 modules, each with an assessment at the end requiring a passing grade of 75% to proceed to the next module. Four checkpoint quizzes will be placed throughout the course, and a final proctored online exam will be placed at the end of the course. The proctor must be a colleague authorized by the NEI. A passing grade for the final exam will be 75% which will indicate completion of the CCS course and full certification of the Certified Customs Specialist.
The CES course will remain the same and will continue to be hosted on GISTnet. The CES exam is also web-based, but has on-going, open enrollment. You need 1 year of experience in exports to take the course, and, as with the CCS, we require an application, letter from your employer, and a copy of your resume. The cost for the course is also $650 (for members) or $1250 (non-members). You would need to complete all of the modules and passing the proctored, online CES final exam to gain certification. The passing grade for the CES course is also 75%.
Why do I no longer recertify on a fixed date basis?
LogisticsEI is designed to allow users to learn at their convenience and become certified at any time. If you have been certified since before 2015 and have not allowed your certification to lapse, you may continue to recertify on a calendar-year basis.
Effective July 2015, however, the renewal system has been updated from a fixed annual date to an anniversary date sysmte. All designees must complete their credits by the Expiration Date listed under the Certifications tab of their transcript on LogisticsEI.
Once you are certified, you are required to pay an annual renewal fee and earn continuing education credits. CCS and CES designees must earn 20 credits per year, and MES designees must earn 15 credits per year. Do not wait until the end of your certification period to earn your credits!
You can track all your credits on your Transcript.
One month before your certification expires, you will be notified by email to recertify.
What should I do if my certification has lapsed?/How do I reinstate my certification?
If your certification has lapsed, you must reinstate into your program (CCS/CES/MES).
For instance, if you did not earn enough credits by your expiration date and therefore did not renew your certifcation on time, you are considered lapsed in our system and must reinstate in order to become active again.
Reinstatement is a two-step process:
1) If you would like to reinstate, please contact a member of the NEI Staff. They will send you two reinstatement case studies to complete manually.
2) Once you have completed and passed those case studies, you must pay a reinstatement fee (similar to a renewal fee).
If you have been lapsed 1 year, the reinstatement fee will be $145.
If you have been lapsed 2+ years, the fee will be $245.
Once you have been reinstated, your fee will return to the normal $95 renewal fee the following year.
