With the Start of Summer, 2012 GAC Planning Is in Full Swing
The NCBFAA 2012 Government Affairs Conference is scheduled for September 9-11 at the Washington Hyatt Regency on Capital Hill and registration will open shortly. Please take note of the dates. This is much earlier in the month than the last few years. The Conference committee is aware of how valuable your time is and we will make every effort to make this years GAC one of the best!
Remember, it’s an election year and believe me when I say your representatives in the House and Senate will be listening. Congress will be in full session all week while we are in town. The GAC Committee, again chaired by Mary Peglow, MidAmerica Overseas, has already started working on the position papers you will be delivering to your representatives on the Hill.
Today is the day to make your hotel reservation before our block and most of the other available hotel rooms during this busy Election year time fill up. Don’t delay as this is a prime location hotel and Congress will only be in session for two weeks in September.
The GAC committee looks forward to seeing you in Washington. If you are a Regular NCBFAA member and have never attended a Board meeting, you might want to consider arriving early enough to observe your Association leadership in action starting on Sunday morning with the Customs Committee meeting.
See you in Washington!
